PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: A Free Program offered to families with children 0 – 5 years of age. It is designed to nurture the oral language development, creativity and problem solving skills in young children by motivating caregivers to engage with their children in story telling, circle time, art, music and dance.

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION PROGRAM CO-FACILITATOR
Volunteer Responsibilities: Assist with facilitating the program.
Dates/Time: Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:00 – 11:00AM.  March 23, through April 22, 2015.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: FMCI is a school reform collaborative seeking to improve low income, low performing schools and help all students read by 3rd grade!

CHILDCARE ASSISTANT
Volunteer Responsibilities: Provide childcare for the children whose parents are participating in the Family Literacy program.
Dates/Times:  August - June,  8–11am
Minimum age:  18

PROGRAM ASSISTANT

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Offer comprehensive services and direct support to grandparents and caregivers who are solely responsible for a relative child. Provide case management, support groups, educational seminars, recreation, respite, information and referrals. 

1. Office Volunteer Responsibilities:  Provide general office support, copying, filing, data entry, assist in completion and translation documents and other duties as assigned. Provide childcare support and other duties as assigned.
Dates/Times:  Minimum 3 hours per week (program support from 9am – 5:00 pm weekdays only)
Minimum age for volunteers:  18+
Required Language Capacity:  English;/Spanish/Bilingual preferred but not required.

2. Seminar Volunteer Responsibilities: Provide support with meeting logistics, prepare and setting up food and assisting in childcare efforts, and other duties as assigned.
Dates/Times:  Minimum 3 hours per week (program between the evening hours of 5:00 pm – 8:00pm on assigned evening seminars).
Minimum age for volunteers:  18+
Required Language Capacity:  English;/Spanish/Bilingual preferred but not required.

GENERAL FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER SUPPORT
Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities:
Support efforts to provide promotion, prevention and early intervention information and resources to families with children through age 5. Focus on school readiness, physical, behavioral, social and emotional health.
Provide general clerical/office and receptionist support, data entry, filing and prepare materials and set up meetings.

Skills and Abilities Required
Volunteer must be able to work with diverse social, racial and economic clientele and staff, be flexible, proactive, adaptable and possess a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Bilingual language capacity in Spanish-English, Mandarin-English, Amharic-English Preferred.
Date/Times: Per agreement with supervisor
Minimum age: 18. TB (Tuberculosis) and fingerprint background clearance required.

Bilingual language capacity in Spanish-English, Mandarin-English, Amharic-English Preferred.
Date/Times: 20 hour per month with a 12 month term commit required.
Travel required, therefore a valid California Driver’s license, reliable transportation and current auto insurance is required.
Minimum age 18. TB (Tuberculosis) Fingerprint and background clearance.

Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities:
Provide promotion, prevention and early intervention information, resources and support to families with children prenatal through age 5, focusing on school readiness, physical health, behavioral, social and emotional helath and early literacy.
Works closely with FRC Staff to provide best practice and evidence-based models and strategies in the FRC including but not limited to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math)

Skills and Abilities Required:
Volunteer must be able to work with diverse social, racial and economic clientele and staff, be flexible, proactive, adaptable and possess a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Bilingual language capacity in Spanish-English, Mandarin-English, Amharic-English Preferred.
