Urgent Need Volunteers

 

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:  Donation Station Assistant/Coordinator - Saturdays

DATES AND TIMES: One Saturday a month. February 20, March 27, April 17, May 15, June 12, for families the shift is 10-12 p.m., for everyone else 1-5 p.m.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:  New and gently used clothing and household items will be received, sorted and displayed and given free of charge to anyone referred by a partner of Step Up Silicon Valley: Campaign to Cut Poverty. Groups welcome, and children over the age of 6 with a parent.

• Help receive donations and assist donors in filling out in-kind donation forms.

• Help organize, sort and display the items at the donation station.
• Assist donation station shoppers.

DATES AND TIMES: Tuesdays and Thursdays two-hour shifts available 10 – noon or noon – 2 p.m. or any combination of shifts.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: May Appeal Speakers

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Volunteer to make a brief, 3 minute appeal on behalf of Catholic Charities at one or more of the Masses in your/a parish on May 15 or 16. Script is provided. One-hour training sessions will be held on Tuesday, May 4 at noon, Wednesday May 5 at 6 p.mm, and Thursday May 6 and noon. Volunteers only need to attend one training.
