VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: Donation Station Assistant
Volunteer & Program Description:  New and gently used clothing and household items will be received, sorted and displayed and given free of charge to anyone referred by a partner of Step Up Silicon Valley: Campaign to Cut Poverty. Help receive donations and assist donors in filling out in-kind donation forms.

  • Help organize, sort and display the items at the donation station.
  • Assist donation station shoppers.

Dates/Times:  Monday – Friday, 9:30 – 4:30 p.m. … two-hour shifts available9:30-11:30 a.m., 11:30 -1:30p.m.,  or  one three-hour shift 1:30 -4:30 p.m. or any combination of shifts approved by Donation Station Coordinator.
Minimum Age:  15
Address: 2625 Zanker Road, San Jose 95134, around the back of the building. Enter at Trimble and it will be straight ahead.

VOLUNTEER  OPPORTUNITY:  Handicapables Assistant
Program Description:  Handicapables is a support and enrichment program for disabled adults who meet twice a month on Saturdays.  One time is for lunch, Mass, and entertainment hosted by one of the Catholic Churches of Santa Clara County
Volunteer Responsibilities:  Chaperone individual or a small group of people on the field trip to Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Dates/Times: Saturday Sept 25 from 9 – 6:30 p.m. Catholic Charities 2625 Zanker Road. We will go by private buses to Monterey.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:  Office Assistant – Volunteer Program
Program Description: The mission of the Volunteer Management Program is to improve the experience of the volunteer through a streamlined and standardized process.  Improved volunteer experience will increase longevity and retention of volunteers.
Volunteer Responsibilities:  Various office responsibilities including: filing, copying and database entry
Dates/Times: Flexible hours between 8am-5pm, Monday – Friday, eight-hours a week desired
Minimum age: 18
