The Chief Human Resources Officer leads Catholic Charities organizational development strategies to transform the agency's culture and to fulfill the agency's vision and mission. Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County has been serving individuals and families for nearly 60 years. The agency is the social service/social justice arm of the Diocese of San Jose, but is a separately incorporated public-benefit nonprofit with its own board of directors. The Chief Development Officer reports to the CEO, serves on the Senior Executive Team and Leadership Team, and works closely with a 7 member development team, volunteer fundraising committees, and Board members with a primary focus on bringing in $3.5M+ annually. The Development Department has strong systems in place and an experienced and cohesive team using a continuum of development approaches including individual donor relations, direct mail, online giving, giving societies, major gifts, events, parish appeals, foundation grants, corporate sponsorships, and legacy giving.

Catholic Charities has a total operating budget of $34M, a staff of 500+ and over 1500 volunteers. Nearly 90% of this budget comes from government contracts, foundation grants, social enterprises and fees for service that are the responsibility of the program directors.
