Community Counseling and Education Services
Catholic Charities recognizes that there are times
in life when everyone, young and old, rich and poor,
single and married, must cope with problems that seem
overwhelming. Professional counseling can help people
through these rough times. Counselors at Community Counseling
and Education Services help people make lasting changes
in their lives that will help them cope with future
problems.
Services
- Individual Counseling:
Helps with stressful situations, depression, grief,
anxiety, physical and sexual abuse, HIV/AIDS issues,
work related problems, relationship issues, substance
abuse, domestic violence, court ordered counseling
or anything else that disrupts daily living.
- Marriage/Couple Counseling:
Helps solve problems involving communication, conflicts,
domestic violence, sex, money management, lack of
affection, etc. Premarital counseling is also available.
- Family/Parent-Child Counseling:
Helps families overcome conflicts, troublesome behavior
by family members, poor communications, the difficulties
of single parenting and more.
- Group Counseling:
Gives people with similar problems a safe and supportive
place to help one another find solutions to life's
difficulties.
- Psychiatric Services:
Are available for children who are on Medi-Cal and
in need of psychiatric screening and diagnosis, medication
evaluation, prescriptions and medication monitoring.
Psychiatric services are not offered through the sliding-scale
component of the program.
- Educational Services:
Provide educational presentations and workshops to
schools, church groups, businesses and others. CCES
provides a variety of presentations and workshops
that include: stress reduction workshops; communication;
conflict resolution; family violence; blended and
extended families; and sexual abuse.
- Hotline for pregnancy and adoption services:
Catholic Charities USA, in conjunction with Catholic
Charities offices around the United States, has established
a national toll-free telephone number to provide confidential
pregnancy and adoption counseling for pregnant teens
and other women in crisis pregnancies. The toll free
number is (800) 227-3002. Those who call will
be directed to professional counselors at whatever
Catholic Charities agency is located closest to their
dialing area. A major emphasis of the program is to
present adoption as a positive option.

Professional
Counseling is provided by professional counselors with
advanced degrees in social work or counseling. Staff
are either licensed or license eligible.
Affordable
Fees are based on the income of the individual or family
and adjusted to the number of family members. many insurance
plans cover these services. We also accept Medi-Cal/Short-Doyle
funds for children. Fees are tax deductible.
Accessible
Community Counseling and Education Services is available
to anyone who needs our services. We welcome people
from all religions, races and ethnic groups. Spanish
speaking counselors are available.
