Description and Services:

CORAL improves the academic achievement of young people through out-of-school programs by involving students, families, schools, and community based organizations. Services include:

  • CORAL (Communities Organizing Resources to Advance Learning):  An after-school program functioning at many Santa Clara County public schools.  CORAL focuses on improving student achievement through balanced literacy and enrichment activities.
  • Leadership, Ethnic, and Academic Pride (LEAP) Project:  An after-school program supporting youth to succeed in school and make healthy choices with their peers, their families and in their community.

Eligibility and Requirements: Students are referred to the program by the school administration and teachers.  Students whose reading levels scores are classified as far below basic, below basic, and basic are given first priority.

Fees: None

Hours and Availability: Office hours are Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.  Average program hours at the individual school sites are 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. (Actual hours may vary.)
