Job Description:
Provide a safe environment, leadership, mentorship, and access to positive adult role models to the youth from the Washington Community. Organize and lead structured youth recreational and sports activities plus educational workshops on a weekly basis at the Washington United Youth Center. 

1. Plan and develop weekly meetings and curriculum for Washington Youth Group
2. Conduct outreach to youth and parents in the Washington neighborhood
3. Conduct intakes, permission slips, and maintain confidential client files
4. Assist in implementing program evaluation and weekly debrief meetings to continuously improve programming and ensure quality
5. Conduct Pre and Post Surveys and Sign-In Sheets for all youth programming
6. Serve 25 unduplicated youth per quarter
7. Represent WUYC at community events, meetings, and other settings
8. Work in a team and lead volunteers in the provision of programs and services
9. Work in the evening as stated on the BEST contract
10. Provide healthy snacks and food to the youth
11. Ability to build rapport and a mutually respectful environment with at-risk youth & their families
12. Other duties as assigned

1. Work with the BEST Team on other activities as needed
2. Attend monthly BEST Mtg. and Community meetings as needed
3. Maintain confidentiality with client information

1) Required knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Experience in working with High Risk Youth & Adults/ Families
• Experience in facilitating groups
• Strong facilitation, presentation and organization skills
• Experience working with young adults in a support group setting
• Bilingual Spanish with good oral and written English skills
• Excellent cross-cultural and interpersonal skills
• Strong positive leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• High energy and patience
• Ability to work on a team and independently
• Strong organizational skills and leadership skills
• Vehicle and a valid CA driver’s license and adequate insurance
• Computer literate

2) Minimum Education level
• High School Diploma and Some College or Equivalent. (Equivalent education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the job may be considered.)

3) Physical Requirements: 
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs.

4) Working Conditions: 
• Confidentiality with client information
• Work attire: No blue, red, baby blue or maroon shall be worn during center operational hours or any other apparel that may be perceived as gang affiliated
• Available to work in the evenings for Late Night gym approximately 5 hours
• Attend monthly FMCI Cluster and monthly meetings.
