Therapist II - CalWORKs Spanish Speaking (2019-41)

GENERAL NATURE OF POSITION:
Therapists provide individual sessions to adult clients in an outpatient treatment facility or in the field as needed. Also they facilitate psycho-education groups on a variety of core curriculum and collaborate with care management staff (Psychiatrist, Nurse Practitioner, Case Managers, etc) to assist clients in completing their treatment plan goals.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Provide Clinical Assessment and Plan Development:
o Complete the strength-based SCC Initial Mental Health Assessment with each client within 40 days from client opening
o Complete other program-assigned assessment tools
o Complete an individualized treatment plan utilizing the Transformational Care Planning model within 40 days from client opening
o Complete an Update Assessment for each client opened for more than one year from client opening. Assessment needs to be completed within two years of the initial assessment.
2. Provide Individual Therapy:
o Provide a minimum of one hour of weekly therapeutic services to each client
o Utilize evidence-based practices and strength-based intervention in providing individualized treatment
o Utilize other appropriate psychotherapeutic approaches and interventions to address the individual’s identified needs and strengths
3. Provide Other Clinical Services:
o On a client need basis, provide collateral services, family therapy, group rehabilitation, group therapy, and case management services.
o Provide linkages and referrals as needed
4. Specific Job Expectations:
o Maintain a caseload of a minimum of 20-23 cases
o Meet with clients at a minimum of a weekly basis
o Provide community-based services for sessions and services as needed
o Meet a minimum standard of 104 hours of productivity per month
o Complete all progress notes within 5 business days
o Complete assessments and treatment plans within 40 calendar days
o Attend weekly individual supervision and weekly team meetings
o Provide your weekly schedule to the program supervisor, program assistant, and others in the program as requested
o Provide 40 hours of work each week. If time off is needed for sick or vacation time, it needs to be submitted to and approved by the program supervisor, and noted on the time card
5. Other Responsibilities as Assigned by Supervisor
Required Education and Experience
o LCSW, LMFT, or AMFT or current registration as an ASW with the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences.
o Excellent oral and written English skills
o Fluent in Spanish
o Automobile and valid CA driver's license
o Auto liability coverage according to agency requirements
o Excellent computers skills: MS Office (all apps)
o Ability to lift 25 lbs or more.
7. Additional Knowledge Skills and Abilities
o Excellent cross-cultural, inter-generational and interpersonal skills to address needs of diverse, ethnic and homeless community clients.
o Knowledge of community resources, organizations and supports.
o Knowledge of mental health and alcohol, substance abuse and recovery treatment services a plus.
o Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
o Computer proficiency with windows products.
o Culturally competent motivational interviewing skills.
o Understanding of complex needs clients, community and agency issues and ability to take appropriate actions.
o Availability to work Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM. (alterations can be granted to weekly working hours via Program Manager)
o AWARDS training or ability to complete training within 30days of hire.
o CPR and First AID Certification or ability to obtain the certification as indicated.
PAY RANGE: Contingent on education, experience and language skills
